Launch of the new Grotte Marie-Jeanne website.
In follow up to their trip to Haiti in June 2008, a group of Irish entrepreneurs (Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year finalists) are delighted to launch a new website to promote the Grotte Marie-Jeanne caves in the town of Port a Piment, Haiti.
WELCOME TO THE GROTTE MARIE-JEANNE WEBSITE
Grotte de Marie Jeanne is a large cave system located on the southwest coast of Haiti in the town of Port a Piment. It is formed on a small limestone plateau on the south central part of the Massif de la Hotte. It is potentially the largest cave system in the Caribbean, with a reported 1 kilometre of passage. However a formal survey has never been completed so the true length of the cave system is unknown.
The entrance has a tremendous amount of scenic value because of the tropical forest that it contains. The many entrances and skylights allow for the development of a unique cave ecosystem that has not yet been fully identified or studied.
